It’s the most fantastic, breath taking and scariest day of your life. You are bringing home the most precious possession that you alone are responsible for. Over the last nine months you have devoured every book imaginable on how to take care of your new bundle of joy. You have also spent hours thumbing through numerous catalogs and magazines to decorate the room that your newborn will spend most of its time in. You are aware that this special place can be the key for your child’s development. Before this child becomes a reality you just know that everything has to be perfect.
The main theme that has appeared from all that you have read is that you must make this room a place of learning, cozy and comforting. It must have a feeling of love and warmth and the security for the child to be his or herself and grow. Since you will also be spending most of your time there you need to appreciate the room as well. Remember if you are happy and relaxed so will your child.
The first step for the walls is to choose a color schemes. Studies have shown that it is best to choose colors that are light, clear and breezy. Dark shades offer a non stimulating environment and can make the room feel closed in and smaller. Introducing warm colors like rose, peach or primrose helps create a feeling of coziness and adventure. The sooner the baby feels at home in the room the better for everyone involved in its care.
Have fun and be creative and most of all keep safety in mind. Making the perfect space for your little one can be a wonderful experience. You want to make certain whatever wall decor you choose, this will be a place that is comforting and will surround the child with slumber and lullabies and stimuli.
Children grow faster then you expect so try to pick a theme that will grow with your child. You might choose just to do wallpaper borders or stick-ups that can easily be removed when your child has a mind of their own. Another idea is to choose a theme that you can keep adding to as the child develops. Make his or her room one that they will enjoy for years and everyone will win.
Some popular themes are characters from nursery rhymes and fairy tails. When they reach the toddler years these pictures on their walls will be recognized as friends from the stories they have been told over and over again. Animals and flowers are a couple of other soothing themes I might suggest. Whatever you finally decide on, a must for all new parents is to purchase a wall covering that is washable and easy to remove.
In early childhood children have trouble distinguishing what is real from what is imaginary. Whatever characters you decide on, the images should be gentle and definitely not scary.
Consider incorporating shapes, circles, triangles and rectangles also with geometric shapes. It is known that these shapes will allow a child to focus better on objects, which will be a boost to their development. Try to also incorporate colorful patchwork designs and a combination of textures.
The goal to keep in mind when deciding on a theme, color, design and material is that you want wall decor that will attract your babies attention but not overwhelm them so they find it too stimulating to relax.
This is the best time of your life and the excitement that is inside of you is sure to spark your enthusiasm and will automatically generate exciting decor ideas.

Where can I buy woodland themed nursery decoration?
I recently bought my son a woodland themed cot set and want to do his bedroom decoration the same. But I cant find any boarders or curtains or lamp shades or anything with a fox or hedgehog or even a tree on!! Even if its just a stencil or stamp for the walls, anything woodland themed! This volume is the second in a series of five on the Insula (city block) of the Menander at Pompeii. The first (on the structures) and the fourth (on the silver treasure) have already been published; the third (on the objects) and the fifth (on the graffiti) are in preparation. The Insula of the Menander, approximately 3500 sq. m. in area, derives its name from the House of the Menander, one of the best-known dwellings of the ancient city. This was evidently the property of one of Pompeii's leading citizens. Renowned for its architectural grandeur and for the hoard of 110 pieces of silver plate found in a cellar, it also yielded room upon room of splendid wall-paintings and mosaic pavements, ranging in date from the first century BC to the eve of the eruption of AD 79. In addition to this dominant house, the block contains several smaller houses--notably the House of the Lovers and the House of the Craftsman--most of which contain further paintings and pavements of interest. The present volume publishes these decorations in full for the first time. Its importance lies in the fact that it covers the whole block, rather than concentrating upon isolated houses (as most previous volumes have done). This enables the reader not only to look at questions of chronology and iconography room by room and house by house, but also to observe broad patterns of taste and social differentiation within a particular neighborhood of Pompeii.

Comparable to John Fahey, Robbie Basho, and Leo Kottke, Peter Lang was among the acoustic guitarists who came out of the "picker" genre in the '60s and '70s. The pickers, as they were called, played unaccompanied solo guitar and made instrumental folk their specialty. Lang isn't as well known as either Fahey or Kottke, although he is a talented and expressive musician in his own right. A lot of pickers recorded for Fahey's Takoma label, and it was for Takoma that Lang, in 1972, recorded The Thing at the Nursery Room Window. This is essentially a folk recording, although Lang's brand of folk easily incorporates elements of southern country blues, bluegrass, and Appalachian music. Ceiling Fan Repair – Find Out the Most Common Ceiling Fan Problems
If your home is mostly cooled using ceiling fans, you know exactly how useful and pleasant they can be during the summer. You also know how stifling and suffocating the warm air can get when they fail! What you may not be aware of is the fact that most ceiling fan repair is actually a breeze, and, for the most part, there is no need to call in a specialist. Take a look at three of the most common ceiling fan problems below and their surprisingly simple fixes!
Problem 1: The fan doesn't work
Make sure that power is present by checking the switch and the fuse box. You can do this fairly easily by turning off the power to the fan circuit and unscrewing the screws that hold the switch the electrical box. You'll need a voltage tester (available from a hardware store or home center) to check the screw terminals to make sure that they are not charged and then you can pull the switch from the box itself.
After you unscrew the wires from the terminals, straighten the ends of the wire with needle-nosed pliers before you twist the two ends together and screw a wire nut over the twisted wires. Turn the circuit back on and see if the fan works. If it does, the switch is bad and you need to replace it. If there is still no activity, you will need a specialist to check the wiring and the fixture.
Problem 2: The fan hums
If you notice that the fan hums whenever it runs, there is a chance that this can be fixed by working with the speed control. A fan with a cheaply made motor might just be predisposed to make noise, but you'll often get fans where anti-hum features can be easily installed. First, turn off the power at the circuit breaker and test it by turning the fan off and on and off again.
As before, use a voltage tester after you remove the faceplate and switch to make sure that the wires are safe to touch and disconnect the wires from the switch. Per the directions on the anti-hum fan control, twist the wires present together and after adding the wire nuts, replace the control and faceplate before restoring the power.
Problem 3: The fan wobbles
Check to make sure that your fan has been installed into a specially designed ceiling electric box that is made for fans, as a regular one that is meant only for lights will be unable to support the fan's constant movement and weight. If the fan installed into the wrong kind of electric box, you will need a specialist or an electrician.
You can check by unscrewing and lowering the fan's housing the ceiling; you'll be able to see a label that will designate it as being fan-rated. U-bolts or lag screws should connect the box to a bracket or a solid wood block for stability.
Before unscrewing the whole fixture, however, tighten all screws by hand. If you have a droprod involved in supporting your fan, make sure that the ball joint at the top of the drop rod is well-settled with the support bracket.
Similarly, make sure that the blade tips hang an equal distance from the ceiling; if the blades are warped, a wobble could result. If this is the case, you can call the manufacturer for blade replacements or head to your local home center.

The Industry fan is the first "retro" product for the Modern Fan Co. Although simple in design and devoid of ornament, the Industry Fan evokes an Industrial age image. Ron Rezek selected the raw galvanized finish to carry through this functional, industrial look. The Fan, however, incorporates the most current motor and control technologies to provide a quiet, contemporary product in a retrospective package. The Industry fan will work very well in exposed ceiling interiors, coordinating with galvanized ducting, conduit and industrial-style lighting. The Industry Fan is constructed of heavy gauge steel stampings which are hot-dipped in zinc for the galvanized finish. The galvanized comes with four 52" white blades as standard. Light maple and aluminum blades are available as options. All blades are stocked in 52" or 42" diameters. Several lighting options are available for the Industry fan. There are two glass shades, one is an open bottom tapered cylinder (adds 5" to height of the fan), the other a schoolhouse globe (adds 4" to height of the fan). Choose from 75 watt A19 incandescent or 26 watt GU24 compact fluorescent. The Fan is powered by a 18 pole stack motor drawing one amp. The reversible fan can run at any of three speeds which are controlled by two capacitors. The Industry fan has conventional pull chains for both speed and light control, however with these switches left in their high position any of our standard wall or remote controls can be used.
